Exciting News! Walking in Broken Shoes has won the 2012 Christian Small Publisher's Book of the Year Award in its category! Thank you to all who took the time to vote!
Susan Walsh, the author of Walking in Broken Shoes, has not only an indelible mark on her calendar for January 12, 2010 but also on her heart. She was in Haiti with her husband and 21 other team members from Little by Little, a medical mission group she founded in 2008. Their team had been providing medical care to hundreds of people in a mountain village 13 miles from downtown Port-Au-Prince. On January 12, as Susan and her team were leaving the medical clinic for the day, the fault lines in southwestern Haiti shifted dramatically, resulting in a devastating earthquake creating unprecedented damage, injury and loss of human life.
Walking in Broken Shoes is an astounding and poignant account of Susan and her teamís medical work in Haiti leading up to the disaster and their immediate response to those injured in the 2010 earthquake.
